HTTP

As studied earlier, HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. HTTP is a standard set of well-defined rules which are used for communication on a network between a Web Server and a Web Client, using a Web browser. HTTP is used to deliver files and data on the World Wide Web (WWW).

HTTP enables requests from web browsers to web servers and responses back from the web servers to the web browsers. The Web Server runs a program that handles requests from various Web browser clients and sends the requested data back to them.
